For this week, Grayson and I decided it would be helpful to create pixel scenes that capture the feel of the levels. We talked about our first level, Pancreas Playground, being fun, light-hearted, and calm. So, I came up with this area that depicts a nice beautiful day with a slide and swing. This place definitely has the calm, breezy, subliminal feel I wanted.

The next two scenes were made for the same level. At first, I thought our third level, Stomach Lagoon, would take place inside the stomach and be toxic, gooey, slimy, and wet. I made the first image below take place in a dark cavern. The second image below is my second take at this level. We decided on a more beachy/tropical vibe and I definitely hit it right on the nose with that one.

-Tileset Redo-

October 10th - October 11th : +2 hours

Now that I know the look and feel of each level I have started making tilesets in Aesprite. The previous tiles I made were made in a way that would not allow them to loop together correctly when placed. So, I have started to research how to efficiently make tilesets in Aesprite and have discovered a way that will make the process easier and faster. Aesprite has a "tiled mode" feature that lets me choose between duplicating on the x-axis, the y-axis, or both. This will be a huge time saver and I am excited to get drawing again.

Below is the video I've been watching.
