-Grass Tilesets-
October 12th - October 18th : + 3 hours & 30 minutes
This week was all about trial and error. Following the "My Tileset Workflow" video in my last dev log, I started making grass and dirt tiles. The YouTuber creates dirt using horizontal squiggly lines, so I also tried to do that (see Figure 1). However, since he was using a smaller pixel-dimensioned canvas and I was using a larger one, it wasn't turning out how I envisioned. I then decided to start over with a new pattern. I was going for clumps of rocky dirt but because I avoided them touching it looked like they were bones (Figure 2). So once again, I restarted, but this time I talked with Grayson and got encouragement from him. Figure 3 is my final tileset and the approved one for the game. I am very happy with this design and am so glad I achieved the look I was going for.

I also started working on the sandy tileset for the lagoon/beach-themed level. I decided that it would be better if I made multiple versions of sand for our group to pick from, below are the different patterns.
