Elisa Kucalaba - Week 10 Devlog

October 19th - October 25th : + 6 hours

For this week, I created backgrounds for our Level 1 - Pancreas Playground (Figure 1) and Level 3 - Stomach Lagoon (Figure 2). In our game, we want to have a parallax effect to take place. This means that although the background is flat the layers move at different speeds to give it depth. I had to keep this in mind while creating these pieces, making sure that everything would loop seamlessly. Below I will link a video we will follow to help get this effect in our game Unity (Figure 4). In today's meeting, Grayson and I talked about using the rule of thirds for the beach level. So, that there is less beach and more water and sky. For the rest of the week I will be spending at least 2 hours working on level 2 background which will have an industrial look to it.

- Sand Tileset-

October 20th - October 25th : + 1  hour

At the end of last week, our group was on the fence about whether or not we had enough room in our scope for Lvl 3 - Stomach Lagoon. A few days ago, our creative lead, Grayson, gave me the green light to continue working on assets for that level. I was stoked and began working on a ground tileset right away. We decided to use the pattern I made last week that has the little dots of sand particles between the squiggles instead of one of the ones that have bigger dots.
