William Baran - Week 12 Devlog

Total Time: 8+ Hours

 Levels Design:

The majority of my time spent this week was finishing the last two rooms for level 1 to have it ready for Sarah to build. I first created them in their own scene, then once they were complete I moved everything into the Pancreas Playground scene where Grayson was already working. After importing the rooms I had some complications with the rooms overlapping each other with how they were designed. That fault falls on me but I spent time fixing those. I had to change some bits of the layouts but it wasn't too difficult. I then spent the rest of my time playtesting the levels to make sure all the wires and gadgets were working correctly. I ran into some bugs so I worked with informing Sarah so that everything could work properly for the sprint today. Overall Level One should be mostly complete from an unofficial playtesting perspective. I need to go back and make some adjustments after some feedback from Grayson.

Pause Menu:

I spent some time conversing with Sarah to solve some issues with the Pause Menu. After she provided a great deal of useful and informative feedback, I returned to work on fixing the bugs with it. I could finally get the pause menu to pop up once either player presses and holds the start button but only when holding. The issue of being unable to navigate the menu with a controller is also still present. After spending time on this matter I decided to shift my focus on the level designs and finishing level 1 in the engine so that we could have a buildable version of the game by the end of the sprint. The pause menu is something we can revisit but might change depending on how progress goes on more important functions.
